By L F Anderson and D D Ames - 1980
There is nothing in this world
That I could hold so dear
As the words of a good friend
Who would always be near
Short romances and fast affairs
Are not really my speed
A long and lasting friendship
I really all that I ever need
You meet so many people
As you journey on your way
But, all those acquaintances
Are not the kind you wish to stay
I feel I am so very lucky
To have you as my friend
For I will always treasure
Our friendship, which will never end
